As revealed exclusively this morning on the Real Reading Podcast by Club Treasurer, Victoria Pyke a new 3G pitch at the Rivermoor has been identified as a priority project after we contributed to the Football Foundation’s Local Football Facility Plan (LFFP), a plan for transforming the experience of grassroots football here in Reading.

Reading City Football Club prides itself on being at the heart of the community and we were therefore delighted to be able to contribute to Reading’s Local Football Facility Plan (LFFP), a plan for transforming the experience of grassroots football in our local area.

The LFFP has now been completed and we’re delighted to announce that the Rivermoor has been identified by the Football Foundation to have a new 3G pitch installed as a priority project.

The LFFP is a 10-year priority plan, however the implementation of the pitch at the Rivermoor will take eighteen months from the planning stage up until construction being completed.

By installing a 3G pitch here at the Rivermoor, the hub of Reading’s football community we will be able to alleviate 3G pitch shortfalls in the area and help cater for training demand from large clubs such as Reading City FC and Tilehurst Panthers FC. The 3G pitch could be provided as a stadia pitch or in addition to the stadia pitch.
