Ewan is a talented centre-forward who has most recently played for Ascot United.

Ewan has also had spells at Binfield, Maidenhead United and Sandhurst Town.

He has also plied his trade in the United States of America playing for USL League Two side Houston Sur and the University of Indianapolis.

We are thrilled to have a player of Ewan’s experience join the camp this season as we look to push on and build on the historic success of last season.

After putting pen-to-paper we spoke to our new signing and when we asked him why he signed for the Cityzens his answer was “Simmy (Simon Johnson, First Team Manager) wouldn’t leave me alone”.

We spoke to a jubilant Simon Johnson about finally securing the services of Ewan and here’s what had to say:

“I’ve known Ewan for many years and have always been a fan of him both as a person and as a player. He trained with us briefly in spells in between his time out on scholarship in America.

I’ve been trying to get Ewan across the line this year since I saw him at the airport on the way back from my stag do whilst I had a spider man flat cap on. I knew from that moment we had a chance of getting him!

Once he mentioned he had moved on from Ascot after the start of pre season, I was very keen to get him sorted as soon as possible.

He’s had interest from other clubs, so I’m thrilled that he’s chosen to come and play football at Reading City this season.

He’s a combative centre forward with the ability to mix up his game and be unpredictable and certainly has an eye for goal.

Welcome Ewan.”
