The Club reports that its First Team Physiotherapist, Paul Addis, has left to take up a similar role at Hampshire-based AFC Stoneham in a bid to reduce his commuting times.
In addition to taking on sports psychology responsibilities during his near two years with the Cityzens, Paul became a much loved face amongst so many connected with the Club.
He brought with him substantial experience of working in the semi-professional game, mainly from his time at Salisbury alongside the former Portsmouth favourite and BBC pundit, Steve Claridge.
With a background in physical education, Paul first met the Cityzens’ First Team Manager, Simon Johnson, when the pair worked together at Get Active Academy in Bracknell.
The two kept in touch, and despite living in south Hampshire, Simon convinced Paul to join his First Team set-up here at City.
Discussing Paul’s departure, Simon Johnson said:
“Not only is he an excellent physio, he was a real character in the dressing room and someone that everyone was a big fan of. He raised our level of professionalism and performance. Something as small as bringing sweets and electrolytes to every game transformed us, but he also was always an open ear for the players and management to reach out to.”
“His personality was infectious. His commitment to commute from Southampton every week was outstanding. He will be a big miss, but we fully understand his reasoning for moving on.”
Whilst also wishing him all the best for the future, Club officials thank Paul for his service and support. He’ll always be welcomed back by smiles at The Rivermoor.
