Jonathan is an experienced and talented Goalkeeper giving us strength in depth as we look to kick on and build on the success of last season.

The eagle-eyed fans amongst you will have noticed Jonathan playing for us towards the end of last season where he played a key part in our play-off push.

We are delighted to officially announce him as a Cityzen ahead of the 2024/25 campign.

He has had previously had spells at Flackwell Heath, Woodley United and Thatcham Town where he’s probably best known for making his debut and helping the Kingfisher’s to to a 2-2 draw against Walton and Hersham which prevented them from winning the league on the final day of the 2022/23 Campaign.

He is a great addition to the camp as we look to build on the success of last season.

We asked Jonathan why he signed for Reading City and he told us “I’ve aways admired the club for what it does with the community, it’s local to where I live and the squad and coaching staff are a great bunch of lads”.

We spoke to First Team Manager, Simon Johnson regarding Jonathan being officially unveiled as a Cityzen and here’s what he told us:

“Johno is an excellent goalkeeper and will provide great support and competition for Charlie (York).

 

He’s a great character who is always on hand to work with and support the group.

 

He’s a great trainer and demands standards of himself and those around him. He also played a huge part in our run in last season and is always ready when called upon.”
