Simon Johson and his Cityzens head to West London on Saturday in our first away game of the season.
Your support would be much appreciated as we take on North Greenford United in a Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North clash at Berkeley Fields.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
North Greenford United was founded in 1944 as a youth team and gradually moved up through local leagues, achieving senior status in 2002 when they joined the Combined Counties League. They experienced significant success in the mid-2000s, winning the Combined Counties Championship in 2009/10 and earning promotion to the Southern Football League Division One Central.
However, the following years were marked by inconsistent league performances, frequent managerial changes, and relegation battles. Despite these challenges, the club enjoyed success in cup competitions, notably reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Vase in 2023/24 and achieving strong finishes in various other cup tournaments. Their journey reflects resilience and a determination to compete at higher levels despite obstacles.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Reading City and North Greenford United have faced each other six times with two wins for City, two wins for North Greenford United and two ties ending all square.
City haven’t won at Berkeley Fields since the 13th August 2022.
Last season saw North Greenford United finish the season in 8th place whilst Reading City finished in fourth, narrowly missing out on promotion to Step 4 after defeat to Bedfont Sports in the Play Off Semi-Final.
