Rob is no stranger to the Rivermoor having previously had spells at Reading Town and Highmoor Ibis before being part of our inaugural Reading City squad in the 2018/19 season, before earning a move to Basingstoke Town.

Rob has also had spells at Aldershot Town and Thatcham Town but is probably best known for his time at Ascot United. Having joined the Yella’s in November 2022 he was a key member of their 2022/23 FA Vase Squad, having scored a late equaliser in the Semi-Final he helped set up a meeting with Newport Pagnell Town in the Final at Wembley for which he was in the starting line-up and would see his side go on to win the FA Vase, alongside fellow Cityzen Alfie Grant who has also recently returned home to RG30.

They also won the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North that season to secure promotion to Step 4.

Rob has also spent time in Australia playing for Rochedale Rovers FC who compete in the National Premier League Queensland, the top tier state-level soccer competition in Queensland which is Step 2 of the Football Pyramid.

Rob is a player who is both powerful and technically strong. Coupled with his experience of winning the Vase and League as well as being an established Step 4 Player will be a huge asset as we look to push on this season, we are delighted to have him back in Blue and White.

Rob will go straight into tomorrow’s matchday squad for our Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North clash with Hilltop.

We spoke to First Team Manager, Simon Johnson after Rob put pen-to-paper and here’s what he had to say:

“Bringing in a player with Rob’s experience and quality is a no brainer. He has won this league before as well as the FA Vase so I’m sure he will be invaluable to us. He trained well on Thursday and comes straight into the squad for Saturdays game vs Hilltop. I’m excited to see what value he can add to the squad.

Welcome Rob.”
