Q: Today marked the return for a few players, how does it feel to have them back in contention and what’s your take on your squad’s character and dynamic as a whole?
It’s good to have players back as it gives us great options across the pitch. The squad’s character is growing each game – in the second half, we came out and not only dominated the game, but showed quality on and off the ball.
Q: Although it’s unfortunate to exit the cup at this stage, what can you and your players take from this experience in preparation for Saturday?
It would have been great to have a good cup run, but it wasn’t meant to be. Like I said to the players, they can be proud of the second half showing, but it’s about getting those levels for 90 minutes week in week out in the league.
Q: On a more positive note, we created a lot going forward and we often made it into the final third, is that something you’re pleased with despite the result?
Yes, Mimi [Olaide] has worked a lot on the team’s style of play offensively, and it’s paying off, so I’m pleased. It’s now about bringing the whole body of work together.
Q: Next match, back-to-back fixtures on the road, we face Wargrave in RG10, how are you feeling ahead of that?
Another away fixture indeed, and so another opportunity to put our best foot forward in search for another 3 points on the road.
