Although Reading City Football Club doesn’t have a dedicated women’s or girls pathway of it’s own having instead opted to work with ‘Sister Club’ Tilehurst Panthers. The Football Association guidelines state that “A Child in the age groups Under 7 to Under 18 inclusive may play in a match involving boys and girls” and we are proud to offer all youngsters a fun, safe and inclusive matchday environment to flourish in.

The announcement of Millie signing for Chelsea Women’s Academy is therefore a momentous occassion for the club as our hardworking managers and coaches have supported and nurtured Millie on her journey for the past year and a half.

Millie who joined our Under 10s last season has played for both our East Berks Football Alliance & Peter Houseman Youth League side, before progressing to Under 11s football whilst going through the Chelsea Academy process.

We are extremely proud to have played a part in her development and wish her the very best of luck as she goes on to play football at a higher standard.

Club Chairman, Martin Law had this to say:

“On behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to congratulate Millie and wish her the very best of luck as she  embarks on a new and exciting journey with Chelsea Women’s Academy.

As a club proudly partnered with HerGameToo to highlight our commitment to supporting the growth of Girls and Women’s football locally, this is a huge success story for everyone in our Youth Academy that has helped to guide Millie on her pathway to excellence.

Here at Reading City Football Club we have a proven record of developing players to reach their full potential and we are equally proud to be a stepping stone in the pathway for our youngsters who are exceptionally talented”.
