Reading City Football Club are delighted to be partnered with RG4 FC as part of our ‘Community Partner Club’ initiative.
RG4 FC is a community football team based in Caversham, Reading. The club was set up to make football accessible to all children in the area is run by the local community centre, known as the ‘Weller Centre’ which provides a lifeline for some residents, offering free clothes and services such as therapy and advice and during the coronavirus pandemic gave out food parcels.
As we began to say goodbye to 2024, our Caversham based friends had a crazy few weeks as they deservedly took home the Katie Henderson Memorial Trophy for Commitment to Sport at the 2024 Reading Sport Awards having become a lifeline for over 30 children in just two seasons.
If that’s not enough excitement, the Caversham based club who have started with very humble beginnings are currently defying all expectations as their Under 12s Samurai’s side are leading the charge for the Berkshire Youth Football League’s Division Three Title. Having unfortunately lost to League Leaders Purley Jubilee, they are miles ahead on goal difference.
Will 2025 be another exciting year for our friends at RG4? We certaintly can’t wait to find out!
