Reading City is extremely proud to be an England Football Accredited Club which means we are the best place within our community for youngsters to play and enjoy football. We prioritise safeguarding and welfare, training for our coaches as well as the values of The FA’s Respect programme. We demonstrate a positive football environment where our youngsters can experience their football in a safe, fun and inclusive environment.

But we need your help! When it comes to youth football parents play a vital role in shaping their children’s experiences and development.

As a football parent, your support, encouragement, and involvement will have a profound impact on your child’s journey to becoming a confident, creative, and skilled football player. Your role goes beyond being a spectator on the sidelines. By understanding the importance of positive support and guidance, you can help your child navigate the ups and downs of the game, enhance their confidence, and foster a love for football. Your involvement as a football parent, including attending football matches and providing support for young children, can make a significant difference in your child’s overall enjoyment and performance on the field.

We therefore encourage parents and spectators to join an online workshop run by Berks & Bucks FA in collaboration with www.no1fan.club,which will be led by parents of professional football players, where you’ll be able to gain insights from their journeys.

The online workshop will take place via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 19th February 2025 between 6:30pm-8pm and promises to be an engaging and interactive session.

In the unfortunate event that you are unable to make the session we would encourage you to familiarise yourself with The Grassroots Code, implemented by England Football to unite everyone across grassroots football by driving positive standards of behaviour that we can all get behind.
