2-3

Tomorrow evening we will welcome promotion-chasing Harefield United to the Rivermoor.

Johnson will be hoping to build on Saturday’s win and secure another three points as we capitalise on having five consecutive home games.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION

Founded in 1868, Harefield United FC is the oldest football club in Middlesex. Originally known as Harefield Victoria and later Breakspear Institute FC, the club merged in 1934 to form its current identity.

The club competed in various leagues, including the Great Western Combination, Athenian League, and Isthmian League, winning multiple titles but facing financial struggles that led to a move to the Spartan League in 1996.

Harefield United saw success in the early 2000s, winning several trophies and earning promotion. In 2018-19, under Jason Shaw, they achieved an unbeaten league season, securing promotion with five games to spare.

HEAD TO HEAD

Harefield United joined the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North at the beginning of the 2022–2023 season, having left the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division at the end of the 2021–2022 season. Simon Johnson’s side are therefore no strangers to tomorrow night’s opposition.

In our last four meetings, City have won three and lost one. Harefield United have also never won here at the Rivermoor and Simon Johnson’s side will be hoping to keep that record intact tomorrow evening.

Both sides come into tomorrow night’s game on the back of important wins. City earnt their first win in thirteen games with a 3-1 win at home to Ardley United whilst Harefield United won 2-1 at home to Burnham.
