In a break from League Action, our Under 18s will commence their Subsidiary Cup Campaign on Thursday evening in which they’ll head to Surrey to face Ash United in the Group Stage of the competition.

Our youngsters are in very impressive form having gone seven consecutive league games unbeaten and will therefore be looking to start this tournament with a bang.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION

Ash Football Club was founded in 1911 and initially played in the Surrey Intermediate League until 1968. They moved to the Surrey Senior League but were forced to leave in 1971 due to losing their home ground. After relocating, they rejoined the Surrey Senior League in 1976. The club had success in the 1980s, winning league titles in 1982 and 1987, and later claimed the Premier Challenge Cup in 1998 and 2002. Ash were relegated from the Premier Division in 2014 and, in 2021, moved to Division One of the Wessex League.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Our Allied Counties Subsidiary Cup Clash will be the first time the two sides have met.

Coming into this game, City are in fine form as they enjoy an unbeaten streak of seven consecutive games whilst mounting a charge for the Allied Counties Youth Football League Central Division title. Due to adverse weather, our youngsters haven’t been in action since Thursday 6th February in which we won 0-3 on the road to local rivals Wokingham Town.

Ash United are in a similar position with their youngsters having last played on Thursday 13th February when they secured a  2-0 win against Knaphill in the Allied Counties Youth Football League West Division.

Both sides will be looking to kick off their Subsidiary Cup campaign with a win.

In 5.1 miles at the roundabout, take the 1st exit and stay on A331.
In 0.2 miles take the A323 exit towards Aldershot/Woking/A324.

In 0.3 miles at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Aldershot Rd/A323.
In 0.5 miles at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Shawfield Rd/B3206.

Continue on Youngs Dr to your destination.

By Rail: The nearest railway station is Ash which is about a 17 minute walk from the ground.

From Reading take services towards Gatwick Airport, but double check they’ll be calling at Ash.

Once you have disembarked at Ash,  Exit the Railway Station.
