Our Under 18s have mounted a challenge for the Allied Counties Youth Football League Central Division title all season long and with just two games left in their league campaign,  they have reached D-Day.  Thursday night will see our youngsters take on Penn & Tylers Green here at the Rivermoor and in the event we come away with nothing from the game, it will have serious ramifications on our title hopes at this late stage of the season!

Johno and the lads would really appreciate your support so please come down and roar us on to victory on a big night for all at Reading City Football Club.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION

Penn & Tylers Green FC, founded in 1905, is one of Buckinghamshire’s oldest and largest village football clubs. Based at French School Meadows since 1949, the club has deep community roots and a proud heritage. It supports over 400 players across all age groups, including thriving men’s, women’s, and youth teams.

On the field, the club boasts multiple titles, including back-to-back Hellenic League Division One (East) championships, cup wins for both reserve and ladies’ teams, and most recently the Combined Counties Challenge Cup (2022/23). Off the field, it’s a vibrant local hub, earning FA Community Charter Status and continuing to invest in top facilities and future talent.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

We have only faced off once against our Buckinghamshire counterparts and that was earlier this season when we met competitively for the first time in Allied Counties Youth Football League Central Division action with the game finishing 2-2.

City are in very impressive form, currently eleven games unbeaten in all competitions and come into this game on the back of a 1-2 win on the road to Yateley United last Wednesday.

Penn & Tylers Green who are also fighting for the title have dropped points of late, having only secured 1 from a possible six. Their last two games have seen them draw 1-1 on the road to Thatcham, the Kingfisher’s then headed to Buckinghamshire where they defeated Penn & Tylers Green 0-2.

Having not played since Monday 17th March our visitors will be well-rested and keen to bounce back making your support on Thursday all that more important.
