Our Under 18s are on-course to complete a treble this season, with the Allied Youth Counties Football League Central Division Trophy secured they now re-focus their attention on to their Subsidiary Cup campaign as we have been drawn at home to Buckinghamshire outfit, Risborough Rangers.
With some of our current Under 18s heading off on new adventures this summer, this will be the last time that our current crop of youngsters, many of whom who’ve been with us since the age of six will play here at the Rivermoor. Please come along and show them your support for one final time.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Risborough Rangers Football Club, founded in 1970, began as a youth team and steadily grew, adding teams across different age groups. They moved to their current ground, Windsors, and joined the South Midlands League in 1989. The club experienced both highs and lows over the years, with multiple promotions, cup victories, and runners-up finishes. Key achievements include winning the Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup in 2016 and gaining promotion to the Premier Division of the Spartan South Midlands League in 2021. Despite setbacks, Risborough has remained competitive and continues to develop its football programmes.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Although the club is well acquainted with our Buckinghamshire counterparts due to our First Team and theirs competing in the Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North.
This will be the first time our Under 18s have played their Buckinghamshire Counterparts, although topgoalscorer Lucas Taplin won’t be phased by that as he’s already made his first team debut in our 2-2 draw on the road to their First Team, he also scored in in our 2-1 win over their first team here at the Rivermoor earlier this year.
Johno and his youngsters come into this game on the back of a 3-0 win at home to Binfield on Tuesday evening which saw them win the Allied Counties Youth Football League Central Division. This will be their first home tie in the Subsidiary Cup having won on the road to Ash United, North Leigh, Yateley United and Alton.
Our Buckinghamshire counterparts who compete in the North Division of the Allied Counties Youth Football League. They come into this game on the back of a 9-0 win in their league campaign at home to North Leigh on Monday 28th April.
