Reading City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of experienced Midfielder Adam Cashin-Murray, who returns to the club for the 2025/26 Season.

Adam or Cash as he’s affectionately known is a local lad, who as a youngster spent time in the Reading Football Club Academy, before going on to ply his trade at non-league, which has seen him enjoy a spell at the very top of the National League System, having been picked up by National League side Eastleigh.

Adam is no stranger to the Rivermoor having previously represented the club between 2018 and 2020, during his first season as a Cityzen, Adam was also named Club Captain. As well as representing the Cityzens in RG30, Adam has previously played for Reading Town and Woodley United.

Adam has also played at Fleet Town, Henley Town, Hungerford & Marlow.

Although Adam left the club at the end of the 2019/20 season to spend more time with his family.  He has been made numerous appearances for the club when we’ve needed an emergency signing to help us with injuries or fixture congestion. His most recent appearance for our First Team came during our record-breaking 2023/24 season.

Adam has also represented FC BAPCO in the Reading & District Sunday League, which up until recently was managed by our Under 23s Boss Sheldon Baptiste. Whilst playing for FC BAPCO, they’ve won league titles, league cups and county cups.

Making a brief return to Saturday football, Adam made several appearances to support  Sheldon and our Under 23s last season.

Having made several appearances in the Thames Valley Premier League for the club last season, the word on the street was that Adam wanted to make his return to Saturday football permanent and we’re delighted to have him back in blue & white.

Adam is a real clubman who has played at a very high level, experiencing success on Saturdays and Sundays and we have no doubt that his return will help us push on to where we want to be.

We spoke to First Team Manager, Simon Johnson about Adam returning and here’s what he had to say:

“When I heard Cash was interested in returning to Saturday football again I had to reach out. Cash is not only an excellent footballer on the pitch with a lot of experience, but a fantastic person with great leadership skills that will improve our changing room off the pitch no end. I’m so excited to work with Cash again. Another local lad to help us kick on.”
