Reading City Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Mo Ceesay, a talented and versatile player.

The former Girona Youth Player, who lives locally in West Reading joins from Thatcham Town.

Our new addition is no stranger to the Rivermoor, as prior to playing for the Kingfishers. Mo played for Flackwell Heath and was leading the line during our Berks & Bucks FA Senior County Cup First Round Clash in 2018, where he earnt a hat-trick here at the Rivermoor with the Heathens progressing with a 1-3 win.

Swapping Buckinghamshire for West Berkshire, Mo joined the Kingfishers in November 2021 and in his three and half years in West Berkshire, he was endeared by the fans and players alike. Earning the Players Player of the Season Award at the end of the 2023/24 Season and narrowly missing out on Supporters Player of the Season at the end of the 2024/25 Season.

A consistent performer, Mo can pretty much anywhere on the pitch and we look forward to seeing him in blue & white.

We spoke to First Team Manager, Simon Johnson on Ceesay’s arrival and here’s what he had to say:

“Mo is someone that has been on our radar for a long time. A real talent that lives locally and with the help of Yash after he moved on from Thatcham and my old friend Marcus Richardson, the opportunity arose to have a conversation with him. I’m extremely excited to get the deal done and be working with Mo. He will add some attacking flair to the group, but is also a versatile player who can play pretty much anywhere, so he is a fantastic addition to help us kick on”.
