Our new signing is something of a legend in West Berkshire, since joining the Gers ahead of the 2023/24 Campaign he’s been prolific in front of goal.
In his first season he helped Kintbury to a second-place finish with forty-two goals in thirty-three appearances. That goalscoring form led to him being picked up by Berks County, where had a brief spell with the Swords in Step 5 last season scoring four goals in nine appearances in their Combined Counties Football League Premier Division North campaign.
Alongside playing for Berks County, George was still part of the squad at Kintbury and helped the Gers to securing the Corsham Print Wiltshire Senior League title and promotion to step 6, with 14 goals in eighteen appearances.
Prior to playing for Kintbury, George led the line for Newbury during their historic 2022/23 season which saw them win the Uhlsport Hellenic Football League Division Two East with twenty wins from twenty. George played his part in that phenomenal season with nineteen goals in seventeen matches.
Sadly, Newbury Town were unable to accept promotion to Step 6 and returned to Step 7 competing in the Thames Valley Premier League.
George has also enjoyed success whilst playing for Newbury Sunday League side Paggies Bar FC, who in 2021/22 completed a treble winning the League & League Cup along with the Lambourn Cup.
We’re delighted to welcome a player of George’s talent to RG30, we’re sure he’ll be a real crowd pleaser.
First Team Manager, Simon Johnson had this to say about George’s arrival:
