RG4 FC was initially set up by the local community centre, known as the ‘Weller Centre’ on to make football accessible for all children locally, but has gone on to become a vital lifeline for the community on the Amersham Road Estate in Caversham as they are also using the power of sport to improve men’s Mental Health with the launch of their  6 A-Side team called RG4FC Underdogs.

Reading City Football Club’s Community Champion, Ryan Sheehan had this to say:

“On behalf of everyone at Reading City Football Club, we are so pleased to see RG4 FC going from strength to strength and it’s a pleasure to be a part of their journey. Now in our second year of our innovative community partnership, we continue to work closely together.
Having extended their provision from Youth Football to Men’s to help tackle mental health, they thoroughly deserve to be crowned Club of the Year as they are doing some fantastic work in their community. We’re extremely proud to have them as part of our extended City Family.”
