Under 18s Allied Counties
Allied Counties Youth Football North Division Tue 14 October The Rivermoor
Reading City
1
Wallingford & Crowmarsh
1
1-1

Following last weeks defeat on the road to Didcot, Johno’s youngsters are back at home tomorrow night where they will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they host Wallingford and Crowmarsh, for the second time in just under a month.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION

Wallingford & Crowmarsh FC was formed in the 2022/23 season through the merger of Wallingford Town AFC, founded in 1922, and Crowmarsh Youth Football Club, established in the 1960s. Wallingford Town has a proud history, including promotions in the Hellenic and Combined Counties Leagues, and a successful return to the Hellenic League in 2016. Crowmarsh Youth built a strong youth football foundation, with many players progressing to professional clubs.

The merged club aims to boost community involvement and provide a full player pathway, fielding 35 teams from youth to adult levels. The club is supported by key sponsors and focuses on developing local talent and promoting football at all levels.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Following North Leigh’s decision to withdraw from the Allied Counties Youth Football League, our Under 18s find themselves in the rather unusual position of playing each opponent three times this season.

Just under a month ago we welcome Wallingford to the Rivermoor in our North Division opening clash, in which we won 4-1, Johno will therefore be hoping to return to winning ways tomorrow with a performance to match our previous meeting with our Oxfordshire counterparts.

Coming into this game, Johno’s side are on the back of a 4-1 defeat on the road to Didcot last Wednesday, whilst Wallingford  come into this game well rested,  having not been in action since Thursday 2nd October when they recorded a 0-3 win away to local rivals Didcot.

With only a handful of games played, the league is already proving to be exciting with the unpredictability and feeling anyone can beat anyone, as Didcot had previously thumped Wallingford 11-1 in the Second Round of the Allied Counties Youth Football League’s League Cup.
