A huge thank you to Purley Sports & Social Club for organising a fantastic race night last Saturday in support of our Sunday Squad during their inaugural season. The fundraiser raised over £1,100, which will go towards essentials such as training facilities, pitch bookings, equipment, kits, and much more.

We’d also like to extend our gratitude to the generous local businesses who sponsored the races: Barrett Wealth, Claxton Gas Services, Priority Plumbing, and Willmotts Plastic Building Products Ltd.

It was a brilliant evening, made even more special by the presence of First Team Manager Simon Johnson and members of the First Team Squad. Here at Reading City Football Club, we take immense pride in our one club, one city ethos.

Sunday Squad manager Charlie Wyeth said: “The support from everyone at last week’s Race Night was incredible.  We’ve worked so hard so far, in this first season and seeing the community rally behind us makes all that effort feel truly worthwhile. Nights like this give us all an extra boost to keep pushing forward together.”

As a non-profit organisation, the support of our local community is vital. Without you, we would not be able to do what we do. We are therefore truly grateful to everyone who contributed to making the night such a success.
