Declan is an experienced full-back who hails from Newport, South Wales. He most recently plied his trade at Newport City who played in the third tier of the Welsh Football League system before securing promotion to the Cymru South League during the 2023/24 Season.

He has also had spells at Ponthir AFC who compete at the third tier of the Welsh Football League in Gwent Premier Division 1.

After putting pen-to-paper we spoke to our new signing and when we asked him why he signed for the Cityzens his answer was ‘Reading City Football Club is a Great club, with a great atmosphere, great coaches and great players”.

We’re very excited to have Declan sign for us and are sure his experience of playing in the welsh third tier will help us kick on next season as we look to build on the historic success of last season.

First Team Manager, Simon Johnson had this to say after acquiring his latest recruit:
