Corporate Volunteering Days
Reading City Football Club is able to offer opportunities for your staff to help us in ensuring that the Rivermoor is always looking its best, which will benefit the whole community and give you the opportunity to not only give something back to the local community, but also make a real impact.
Corporate Volunteering (also called employee volunteering) is a really simple and effective way for your business/organisation to contribute to the local community, which we’re proud to be at the heart of.
Companies/Organisations give their employees and allowance of time off annually, which they use to volunteer at charity or non-profitable organisation of their choice. This enables staff to make a difference in as little as an afternoon and has incredible potential for community impact.
The Benefits of Corporate Volunteering:
To the individual:
- Learn new skills, build confidence and improve communication skills.
- Gain a real sense of achievement doing something worthwhile in the local community.
- A great day out of the office with lots of positive benefits to the local community
- Return to the Rivermoor Stadium with your family and friends and show them ‘we did that’.
To the organisation:
- Live your organisation’s purpose and CSR commitment, whilst enhancing staff morale and loyalty
- Support the Health & Wellbeing of your staff whilst energising, de-stressing and motivating your team.
- Team bonding: Improve team working by taking people out of their comfort zone
- Identify new leaders: people thrive in unfamiliar situations with work-place barriers removed.
To Reading City Football Club:
- Builds community links and valuable business support.
- Helps us tackle work that would otherwise take days or even weeks to complete.
- Benefits the people of Reading by creating the perfect environment at the hub of the local football community.
So, who’s doing it and what are they doing?
At Reading City Football Club, we’ve already seen volunteers from Software giants Sage & Adobe and telecommunications firm MBNL join us on a corporate volunteering day and we hope more businesses/organisations will follow suit. A volunteering day at Reading City Football Club involves general DIY tasks such as de-weeding and painting & decorating.
We cater for all ages and abilities in groups of 6 to 20 people, depending on the tasks available.
Larger numbers can be considered by special arrangement, Reading City Football Club provides all tools and equipment. Health & Safety is very important to us and a health and safety talk is given before the start of each work party.
For more information and/or to book a team day please email Club Treasurer Victoria Pyke at finance@readingcityfc.co.uk
