As a non-profitable organisation at the heart of the local community we strive to be recognised not just as a football club but a force for good within the immediate community and beyond, providing opportunities for participation in a range of sporting, social and cultural activities in the hope that these will lead to health and wellbeing benefits.

We are therefore delighted to be launching a new initiative where local organisations/businesses can arrange for their employees to volunteer at the club for the day, as research has shown that 80% of employees felt happier after taking part in volunteering activities.

As part of a recent launch event we were joined by representatives from Winnersh based firm Sage. The software firm provides it’s employees with up to 5 ‘Sage Foundation Days’ a year which can be used to help charities and non-profitable organisations.

Following sage visiting the Rivermoor, Club Chairman Martin Law had this to say:

“On behalf of everyone at Reading City Football Club, I’d like to say a massive thank you to the team from Sage who attended the Rivermoor. They really made a big difference as we continue to prepare for the football season. If you’re a local businesss/organisation and looking to complete a volunteering day, get in touch with us as a non-profitable community football club we have a number of day projects for you to get involved in.”

By booking a volunteering day you will be making a real impact, it’s also a chance for your team to have some fun, learn new skills and get out in the fresh air.

A day working with Reading City Football Club can help to boost employee morale, offer an opportunity for team building and personal development.
